The Mal Gray Band first performed at the Hammersmith Apollo in 1976 with Fats Domino. Since then the band has featured: John Paiva (Four Seasons), Pete Gage (Vinegar Joe), Chico Ryan (Sha-Na-Na), Steve Murray (Bill Haley's Comets), Mick Grabham (Procul Harem), Dave Briggs (Scottie Moore), John Gordon (Bill Haley's Comets), Pete Thomas (Fats Domino), Pete Wingfield (Everly Brothers), Tom McGuinness (The Manfreds), Julia Rosa (American Pie), Debra Noelle (American Pie), Geraint Watkins (Dave Edmonds), Marcus Cliffe (Mark Knoffler).
The band, in one form or another, has toured with most of the giants of rock'n'roll, including Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis and Bill Haley.
Mal has co-written songs for Bill Haley, Fats Domino, Joe Sun, the Wild Angels and Albert West and Ben Wild. The album includes nine original songs by Mal Gray and Julia Galliers.
